Reviews of ASD Martial Arts NZ : Hombu Dojo : Manukau City

My son Max has attended the ASD Martial Arts centre over the last six months. He has really enjoyed attending the evening lessons between 6:30pm-7:30pm at the Hombu Dojo in Papatoetoe, Manukau City. Like many children, Max knows Spinjitsu and loves acting like a ninja turtle, battling good vs evil, throwing kicks and harnessing earths elementary powers. He is also inspired by the progression throughout the coloured belts and to one day become a Black Belt and achieve his full potential. Max has obtained a Yellow Belt, and we have noticed his coordination has improved out of sight, becoming more thoughtful in his movements.

In placing Max in the ASD Dojo, my wife and I looked for a local Dojo that has skilled trainers, and owners who are passionate for the success of the Dojo and its students. We actively kept away from Dojo's that processed people like a fast food restaurant. Also of note, I do marvel at the instructors calm approach while passing on their knowledge, meeting the demands that many students can place on them.

I thank Dwane and the other ASD Instructors and Support Team for their support of our son, and in turn support their goal of growing a skilled, strong, family oriented Papatoetoe based Dojo.

Since Connor started ASD Martial Arts we have noticed an improvement in his concentration.

His teacher at his school has even commented on his improved concentration at school.

I would recommend ASD Martial Arts because of the information they know about many martial arts and how they communicate with the students. My Son has been training for many years now and loves going. He has done gradings and is soon to be a brown belt. They have taught him how to punch, kick, roll and fall correctly, even some arm locks and how to get out of them. Very friendly club and am happy that my son has found something he enjoys so much.

I trained with Ai Shin Do for almost a year and reached my Yellow Belt.

The Instructors and other Students were friendly and approachable and I found I learnt a lot about not only the martial arts but about my body and how it works and doesn't work.

Unfortunately due to my busy work schedule I was unable to continue but I am looking forward to continuing my training with the club as soon as I have time.

I would highly recommend this club to anyone who is serious about learning self defense and the martial arts.
