So nice to be able to train in a purpose built Taekwondo gym, not a school hall. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and its reassuring know that a lot of them have competed successfully both domestically and internationally. There is a good feel about the place, people are there to have fun but also train hard. The classes can be challenging, but you feel good afterwards knowing you've had a good workout. Would recommend this gym to anyone wanting to try out Taekwondo. You get your first month for free so you can see if you like it before you commit, and the fees are so cheap compared to all the other clubs I've looked at. In fact all the other gyms don't come close in comparison to the facilities and instructing provided at Christchurch Olympic Taekwondo. ($35 per month, includes all classes!)

Own club to train in, matts are already laid down and ready to train the minute you walk in
Experienced instructors
Variety of classes and levels to train and compete
Club is involved in national and international competitions
Great to be able to train in a purpose built gym. Instructors are very knowledgeable and unlike some other clubs there are quite a few different instructors, each with different skill sets. The classes can be quite physically challenging so be prepared to have sore muscles the next day. The head instructor there, Alan, is a 5th degree black belt and a former national champion and has competed overseas. The club has a good feel to it and people are there to train hard but have a good time. They also encourage members to compete in tournaments and actively train and send teams away to compete.
