We are a school of martial arts focused on grappling combat. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the main focus of the head coach, Fabio Machado, who has been teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2007, when he graduated from black belt. His classes are enhanced by his experience in different grappling styles such as Judo and Luta-Livre (or ADCC).
At GCSH, we offer classes for kids and adults, beginners and advanced, for those who want to compete or just have fun and for networking. We also offer women's self-defense classes in our timetable.
In the sporting world, Fabio Machado has achieved significant results. In 2016 and 2017, he became top rank of the state circuit of Rio de Janeiro, winning the Rio de Janeiro State CHampionship, Southern Rio Cup, and King of Rio as part of the Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Rio de Janeiro (FJJ-Rio). At the International BJJ Federation (IBJJF), he has earned bronze medals at the Worlds (2x), International Masters, and South American Championship. He has also earned gold medals at the Boston International Open and US Open, and silver medal at both Rio and Belo Horizonte International Opens. Moreover, Fabio is the current NZ Judo Regional champion and National bronze medalist, championships organised by the International Judo Federation (IJF).
