Manawatu Hapkido

Manawatu Hapkido was founded by Malcolm Wright in 1992. Hapkido is a dynamic Korean martial art of self defence. It incorporates joint locks, strikes, throws, basic ground defence, weapons and everyday items. It is not a sport, it is a martial art that is effective against common street attacks. It is suitable children and adults of all ages and sizes. Anthony Dyer (2nd dan) started in 1997 and is our chief instructor. We are a small club that prides itself on having a friendly atmosphere for both adults and children, providing quality martial arts training. Please come and see what we have to offer.​
