I trained with ray porter for about 4 1/2 years and got kicked out because i shed spme light on his history to other students.
Ray did shotokan karate under Bruce Piggot decades ago. Both men admit this much.
Sensei Piggot confirmed that ray only achieved orange belt at this school. Other sources confirmed why ray no longer trained at that achool and its not pleasant and quite possibly fraudulent as well.
No other schools of karate contacted say he was a student of thiers.
Ray porter has high grades from a goju school
and claims 6th or 7th dan from American Goju Ryu.
Enquories yeilded no results but the certificate is
very suspicious.
Ray also has certs from Asian Grandmasters Society, Korean Yudo Association, Kojido ryu jujutsu, World
Organization of Martoal Arys, and many others.
The ones mentioned above all come back to a convicted
fraudster, Jack Stern in the USA, who based his
organizations on his fictitious martial arts training
duringvhis fictitious military service in Kapan/
Okinawa, Korea, & Philipines.
(Jack plead guilty to charges of possession of
a medal of honour, which is apparently a big
thing in the US. )
During the course of the trial jacks real
military service came to light.
Ray also claimed to be the International
Martial Arts Federation-Europe.
In approx 2012 ray handed me an IMAF
assistant instructors badge to place on my gi.
Ray WAS the rep briefly in approx 2009.
Enquiries were made and the IMAF
secretariat informed me that ray was
only briefly the rep and that ceased
in 2009.
IMAF-JAPAN informed me that it was
nor likely ray would ever represent
them as they only support GENUINE
Japanese martial arts.
Ray was listed as the rep for Chinese
Martial Arts but his system and terminology
is Japanese based
I personally believe his stule is better
represented by the term "DUNG FU"
train at your own peril.
Ray is very carismatic but does not
like or withstand scrutiny.
