Otago Kendo Club

Otago Kendo Club is an affiliated club of the NZ Kendo Federation and caters for all people interested in the Budo art of Kendo.

The teaching emphasis of the club is on kihon (basics) from which more advanced techniques can be built upon. Prospective members may also enjoy the benefits of improving physical fitness, self-development and self-discipline. The club membership is a mixture of students (High school and University) and non-students including families.

New members are always welcome and we are happy for you to visit and observe a training (don't be surprised if you get invited to join in!!).

Regular training times: Mondays 16:30 - 18:30 hour and Thursdays 17:30 - 19:30 hour

Programs & Class Schedule

There is no upper age requirement but younger people below age 8 may find it difficult to participate and there are no specific classes for children as such.
If you have medical problems it is advised to seek medical advice or clearance prior to participation in training.
New members will receive an information package which includes a handbook and a new members contract once you decide to join the Otago Kendo Club.
