Oxford Alpine Taekwondo is a Kukkiwon-style Taekwondo club that provides a local community based programme for families and individuals to learn.
Taekwondo (Tae Kwon Do or sometimes just TKD) is beneficial to its members because it helps develop respect, trust and open communication. It also promotes values such as honesty, courtesy, loyalty, and cooperation.
Taekwondo enhances self-esteem by heightening physical and mental abilities. It also builds confidence by encouraging people to succeed by attaining grades and participating in competitions during the year. It helps develop discipline by thoroughly training the body and mind in the tenets and techniques of Taekwondo.
Our classes also teach self-defence by showing students how to recognise situations in which physical self-defence may be necessary, and teaching how to control such situations to their advantage, as well as strengthening minds and bodies through increased physical coordination and mental discipline.
Oxford Alpine Taekwondo holds classes at the Oxford GP Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays. These classes are designed to be suitable for all ages and abilities, from beginner to advanced levels.
