At Rotorua Shotokan Karate (formerly Otonga Shotokan) , we promote traditional Shotokan Karate training for everyone. Karate, the martial art of empty hand, is a great physical and mental discipline for people of all ages and abilities. Our training focuses on basic techniques which include kihon, kata & kumite that are easy to learn, and with consistent practice, become easier to perform over time.

Programs & Class Schedule
Beginners from age 7 years onwards are welcome to join the club anytime during the school year. Our training schedule is based on the school term.
We meet every Wednesday (beginners & advanced levels) and Thursday (advanced levels) from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm at the Linton Park Community Centre, Kamahi Place, Rotorua.
A karate gi is not required for beginners, who may train in loose fitting clothes until they are ready to grade.
